Training in the snow

Some 17 first team players returned to training on Monday morning. Unusually for Barcelona at this time of the year, the pitch was splattered with snowflakes although it didn’t settle for long.

Four players missed the session: Keita and Abidal (injured) and Alves and Messi, who received treatment in the dressing room for knocks they picked up against Almeria. Of the 17 players who worked out on the pitch, only Puyol trained separately from the main group.

Undeterred by the cold

Despite the cold weather, almost half the players chose to wear shorts, including Xavi, Touré, Milito and a couple of players more used to the cold - Ibrahimovic and Chygrynskiy. The rest of the players wrapped up warm!

A new ball

The training session kicked off at about 11. The players worked with the new football that will come into use as of this Saturday.
