www.fcbarcelona.cat

Barca stars Thierry Henry, Rafa Márquez and Dani Alves took part in the VII Game against Poverty played in Lisbon on Monday to raise money for victims of the Haiti earthquake.

The players again showed their human side as they played in a game between Benfica and a world all stars team at the Da Luz Stadium in Lisbon in front of a 51, 312 crowd to raise money for the Haiti earthquake victims.

FC Barcelona had previously agreed to send aid to the victims and Thierry Henry had announced a donation to the disaster fund.

All three start the game

The three Barca players started in the Zidane XI World team, coached by ex-Barca coach Louis van Gaal. Henry and Márquez played for the first half hour, whilst Alves stayed on for the whole of the first half, making a goal line clearance and having a goal disallowed for offside.

Old friends and foes

There were some old Barca friends and foes on the pitch, including Fernando Couto, Luis Figo, Edgar Davids, Philip Cocu, Gica Hagi, Gica Popescu, Patrick Kluivert, Michael Laudrup and Christophe Dugarry.

3-3
The result is perhaps the least important aspect of these games, but there were certainly plenty of goals to entertain the fans: Kaká, Pires and Goutia scoring for the Zidane XI and Nuno Gomes (2) and Eder Luis for the Benfica XI.
