Alves back in training

Daniel Alves returned to training on Friday as FC Barcelona continued their preparations for their third meeting with Sevilla in the space of just 11 days.

With the sun shining following last week's cold conditions spirits were high at the Ciutat Esportiva complex as the 18 first team players and four youngsters were put through their paces. Gai, Víctor Vázquez, Thiago and Jonathan were all promoted to work with Pep Guardiola's squad for the session ahead of Saturdday's encounter in Camp Nou.

With Alves, without Jeffren

On Thursday training took place without Alves after the Brazilian was given permission to stay away, but he was back for the Friday session. Jeffren was also present although he worked on his own to the side of the pitch.

Guardiola will not name his 18-man squad for the game until nearer the time, but he is preparing to exclude for names from the players that he had on Friday for training.
