Messi meets Maradona

At midday today, Leo Messi met up with Diego Armando Maradona for the first time since the latter was named the new manager of the Argentine national side.

After morning training at the Miniestadi, Leo Messi went straight off to a Barcelona hotel to meet Maradona. The private conversation between the two was the first since the AFA announced that the latter will be the new manager of Argentina.

Maradona is currently touring to meet the different Argentinian footballers based in Europe. Yesterday he watched the Champions League match at the Santiago Bernabéu and flew to Barcelona on Thursday morning.

The meeting took place just a few hours after Leo Messi was announced as the best player of 2008 as chosen by the users of fifa.com.
