Nadal: “Guardiola is breaking down all the barriers”

Jaume Marcet

Miguel Ángel Nadal believe that his former team-mate Pep Guardiola is doing a great job as head coach of FC Barcelona and that he has overcome all the hurdles that he has faced so far.

The former Blaugrana central defender knows the current trainer well from their time together and he gave his opinion having watched from the outside this season.

A great coach

He has the knowledge of how the dressing room works and has made some very wise decisions.”

Maintaining form

For Nadal, one of the best things to maintain the current path the first team is on is “to keep the player motivated, never make anyone feel left out and ensure that everyone is involved”. He continued: “Barça play the best football of any team.”

Luis Enrique shows passion

Nadal visited the club’s Ciutat Esportiva training complex on Tuesday to speak to another of his former team-mates, Luis Enrique. “He knows how to transmit his passion for the game,” Nadal explained. “A team reflects its coach and Lius Enrique has never lacked character.”

No coaching plans yet
For the time being, Nadal has no plans to become a coach. “I have always loved football and when I see my former team-mates still involved it does motivate me and maybe one day I will return,” he added.
