Messi’s happiest birthday

www.fcbarcelona.cat

This Wednesday is Leo Messi’s 22nd birthday and the young Argentinean is enjoying it by relaxing on a well-deserved holiday after a long and successful season with the triple-winning Barca and his national side.

This year sees Leo Messi celebrating what has to be his most successful year as a player, having won the triple with Barca and also being named the world’s most media covered player.

Well-deserved holidays

From promise to fruition

FIFA_GALA030.JPGAlthough he’s still only 22, Messi is one of the squad’s most experienced players having made his debut with the first team as a 17-year-old in the derby game against Espanyol in Montjuic on 16th October 2004. Since then, he has enjoyed a meteoric rise to fame, winning three league titles, two Champions and a Spanish Cup, as well as figuring in the final of the last two editions of the FIFA Player of the Year Awards. At 22, Messi has surely passed from being a great promise to being hailed as one of the greats of the game.
