Muniesa, Busquets and Bojan, ’drafted’

Three young Barc players: Marc Muniesa, Sergio Busquets and Bojan Krkic were included in the Futbol Draft 2009 on Monday, an award handed to the best young players between 16 and 20 years old.

Barca provided the largest number in the 11 men chosen as Spain’s ideal young players, with no other club having more than 1 player in the “draft”. The three Barca youngsters picked up their awards at the Santiago Bernabéu this Monday

Busquets makes his mark

The most notable contribution to the award ceremony was undoubtedly from Sergi Busquets who picked up his award with a cry of ‘Visca el Barça i visca Catalunya!’ which provoked a few wry smiles in the audience.

In addition to the top 11 players, there were also prizes for the “silver” and “bronze” teams, though Barca contributed no players to these groups.
