Barça’s opponents in the final of the Champions League arrived in Italy this Monday evening. They were met by intense heat and a crowd of journalists and onlookers.


Manchester United, Barça’s opponents in the Champions League final this Wednesday, reached the Eternal City at 7 pm, a little later than expected. The team went straight to its base at the Exedra Hotel in Piazza della Repubblica. The players and officials were met by temperatures of 30º C and a crowd of journalists and onlookers who came along to see the reigning champions.

Schedule

Manager Sir Alex Ferguson is to hold a press conference this Tuesday at 5.45 pm with two United players. The team will train at the Olympic Stadium at 6.30 pm.

Barça are to travel to Italy on Tuesday morning. Guardiola, Puyol and Valdés will hold a press conference at 7.15 pm. The Catalans will then train at the Olympic Stadium at 8 pm.

Cup on display
The Champions League trophy which Barça and Man United will be battling over on Wednesday is now on display in the old part of Rome and has attracted the attention of numerous passers-by. However, the bulk of the two teams’ fans are not expected to arrive in Italy until Tuesday and Wednesday.
