Abidal and Iniesta to miss Cup Final

Iniesta has damaged his right thigh and will have tests on Monday to determine the extent of the injury. Meanwhile, the red card shown to Abidal tonight means that the Frenchman will also miss Wednesday’s Cup Final.

Andrés Iniesta finished the match in some discomfort and doctors have confirmed he has suffered a thigh injury. He’ll undergo a series of tests on Monday to ascertain the likely duration of the recovery period.

Abidal suspended

Pep Guardiola will also be without Eric Abidal in the Cup Final against Athletic Club Bilbao. The left back was sent off in the 77th minute in the penalty incident. The card means an immediately match ban.

Five players unavailable

This now means that Guardiola will be without a total of five players for Wednesday’s Cup Final as Thierry Henry, Gaby Milito and Rafa Márquez were already ruled out by injury.
