Season over for Rafa Márquez
Márquez, in the 50th minute of tonight’s game, tore the external meniscus in his left leg, according to an announcement made by the FC Barcelona Medical Services.
The Mexican will be subjected to full tests on Wednesday, and a definitive diagnosis and treatment
plan will be announced.
It is still too early to say how long the player will be sidelined, but it looks highly
unlikely that Rafael Márquez will be able to play any further part in this season.
The injury happened to the Mexican when he was on his own, the result of an awkward footing
in the middle of the field. A minute later, he was replaced by Carles Puyol.
