Anna Segura

In the six games he’s played against Valencia in a Barça shirt, Thierry Henry has scored seven goals. The seventh gave Barça a valuable draw last Saturday.

Despite starting the game on the subs’ bench, Thierry Henry was undoubtedly one of the stars of the Valencia-Barça game. He came on in the 61st minute and went on to score a crucial goal to give Barça a 2-2 draw.

Scoring in four consecutive games

With Saturday’s goal, the French striker has now scored against Valencia in four consecutive games –this season’s two league games, plus last season’s second league tie and a cup tie.

Henry got two goals in the second league game between the two sides at Camp Nou last season, a game which ended in a 6-0 rout.

Praise from Guardiola

In the post-match press conference, Barça coach Josep Guardiola praised Henry’s performance and his goal-scoring sense. For his part, Henry recognized that “you have to be in the area to get the type of goal I got”.
