Touré calls for “caution” in the return leg

Berta Brau

Touré Yaya believes that the performance against Bayern was one of the best of the season but in spite of the great result he is taking nothing for granted in the return leg.

It fell to Touré Yaya to try and calm down the euphoria that has gripped the fans as a result of last night’s great result against Bayern: “We had a very good match, we all worked well and we got a good result for the return leg”. However, he assured reporters on Thursday that the players are keeping their concentration: “Right now we’re very focussed because we know there’s still a long way to go”.

The return leg

We have to play with caution because Bayern is a big club”. However, Touré is determined to finish the job in the Allianz Arena: “We have to win and score two or three goals”.

The best in Europe

While maintaining a dose of modesty and caution, Touré Yaya did not deny that the performance against Bayern suggests that Barça is playing the best football in Europe: “We have players of great quality such as Messi, Eto'o and Henry, in my opinion the best forwards. The truth is we’re a very compact team”.

One eye on the league

Next up in the Barça schedule is Saturday’s match against Recreativo in the Camp Nou: “We have to recover from the Champions League game quickly because we have another important match on Saturday. The league isn’t over and we have to keep on working hard”.

Happy with Guardiola
It’s easy to see that there is a great relationship between Pep Guardiola and the senior squad: “We’re very happy with the boss”. According to the Ivory Coast midfielder the key to the good relationship is “the confidence that the coach gives to the players”.
