Bayern thrashed by Wolfsburg (5-1)

Barça next Champions League opponents were played off the park on their decisive trip to Wolfsburg. Klinsmann’s side are now three points adrift of the lead.

Bayern Munich will be coming to the Camp Nou on the back of a heavy defeat in the Bundesliga. The Bavarians played with an almost full-strength side (only Klose, Demichelis and Van Buyten were missing), but were thumped 5-1 by Wolfsburg following a dreadful second half display.

Disastrous quarter of an hour

lucioweb.jpgThe home side went ahead in the 44th minute through Gentner, but Luca Toni equalised a minute later. But the side managed by Jürgen Klinsmann collapsed after the restart when between the 63rd and 77th minute they let in four goals. Dzeko and Grafite scored a brace each and to make matters worse, centre back Lucio went off injured.

Bayern slip to fourth in a very tight title race in the Bundesliga. They are three behind the leaders, surprise package Wolfsburg.
