The training session on Wednesday morning was attended by the same players as on Tuesday afternoon.
The second session of the week was held in the sports centre. Once again Josep Guardiola was able to work with ten members of the senior squad: Valdés, Pinto, Jorquera, Sylvinho, Puyol, Márquez, Víctor Sánchez, Pedro, Keita and Eto'o.
Gai present
Youth team star, Gai Assulin, who also trained with the senior players
last week, was with the group today. However, youngsters Dos Santos, ‘Polaco' and Montoya,
who trained with the first team on Tuesday, were not present at the session on Wednesday.
Injury latest
Of the four players sidelined by injury, only Carles Puyol trained with the main group. The other three - Touré, Iniesta and Abidal – are continuing with their treatment.
Puyol meets the kids
Training on Wednesday had some special visitors. A number of children from ANFAS, an association
for children with mental disabilities based in Navarre in the north of Spain, visited the training
grounds to see the players. All the players signed autographs and posed for photos with the
children, but Puyol took a special interest.
The Barça captain will feature on the ANFAS poster – in previous years the poster featured Spanish pop stars Alex Ubago, David Bisbal and La Oreja de Van Gogh or players from Osasuna and the Portland handball team.
These children – some 350 – are staying on the nearby Costa Dorada. A few of them had a unique chance to meet the players today.
