“There are ninety minutes of work left”

Jordi Clos

Eidur Gudjohnsen and the Barça squad were delighted to have beaten Mallorca, but also know that it is too early to celebrate anything.

Eidur Gudjohnsen was especially happy, having celebrated his 100th appearance for Barça with a win. “When the team works well, individuals work well too. I am pretty happy with my performance, I am really enjoying this season” said the Icelander.

On the game with Mallorca, Gudjohnsen said “it wasn’t easy; they didn’t want to let goals in here.” So 2-0 was a good result. “It was important to keep a clean sheet, but there are still 90 minutes left and we’ll be going there to win … we can feel happy with what we have done up until now, but we haven’t won any titles yet.”

His colleagues spoke along similar lines:

Thierry Henry

“Bojan’s cross was incredible, I couldn’t miss”

“It is never easy against a team like that that just waits to counter attack”

“It was a brilliant result, but I remember the game with Getafe, I saw it on television”

Rafa Márquez

“I am feeling confident, I practise free kicks in case a chance like that comes up”

“The grass was really quick, but we managed to impose our rhythm and managed to keep a clean sheet”

Dani Alves

“We knew it would be difficult after the league game we played with Mallorca, but in the end we have set ourselves up with a good lead”

“It was a major step forward towards our objective of winning the cup”

“I am happy to be at the boss’s orders against Sporting. It was only right for them to revoke the card”

Sylvinho

“It was a good result, it’s the cup”

“They were after a goal but we played well, we were concentrating”

“We have a tough fixture list. But I think the lads are fine, everyone is playing and we’re getting results”
“There are ninety minutes of work left”
