David Puig

Eidur Gudjohnsen believes that FC Barcelona are full of confidence ahead of the game against Real Madrid having beaten Valencia such style last weekend. The Icelandic international admitted that there is more than just three points at stake.

Preparing to play in his third Clásico, the former Chelsea forward now understands what the game really means and has assured that everyone in the squad is ready to win. "It is a match that you have keep going in until you cannot do any more," he said. "There is more than the three poins to play for and the team is calm, united and very focussed. The win in Valencia has given us a lot of confidence as we had not won away for some time. I have seen the spirit and confidence grow. We are ready to win."

Dedicating his goal

"I dedicated the goal to him because he is going through a tough time," the Icelandic star explained. "When I went through a few problems he was always with me asking how I was and lifting my spirits. I just wanted to thank him for his friendship."

Gudjohnsen then admitted that he could not imagine playing in the game against Real Madrid without Ronaldinho: "I think that it is a decision that I would not like to have to make," he continued. "Everyone knows what I think about Ronaldinhoa and his great quality. If he playes, I think we will see a player more moitvated than ever."

Keeping the faith

"I have been through some hard times, above all in the summer, when there were many doubts about my future, but I have always had faith in myself and, now I think I am having a good spell," he said. "I have worked hard to be ready and to be able to take advantage of my chance. In each game my form has improved."

Casillas is the key man
Eidur Gudjohnsen has named Iker Casillas as the key man for Real Madrid ahead of el Clásico this weekend. "I think that he will be very important for how his team plays, but the whole team will cause us problems" he explained. "They have great players in every position. In the last game they won without playing that well and that is something only great teams can do."
