Eto'o back in squad

Sandra Sarmiento/Roger Bogunyà

The big news this Sunday is Samuel Eto'o, who is back in training alter a three-month lay-off.

The Cameroon player did some warm-ups with the physios, and then joined the rest of the group. Frank Rijkaard joined the rest of the squad in welcoming back the Blaugrana number 9. Eto’o has been out since getting injured in the Joan Gamper Trophy last August 29th.

Puyol, on the sidelines

The Blaugrana captain, who suffered a heavy blow to the ribs on Saturday, was also in the training session, but working away from the group training. It was the same for Zambrotta, Abidal, Touré Yaya and Milito, who went off before the end.

Giovani and Deco, on the other hand, worked with another physio. They are both in the final stages of recovery, but are still not match fit. Henry was also receiving treatment whilst Oleguer stayed in the gym.

Final kick around

After yesterday’s capped players left the session, Frank Rijkaard selected two teams for a final kick around. One team consisted of Jorquera, Márquez, Ronaldinho and trainer Albert Roca. The second by Valdés, Thuram, Ezquerro, Eto'o and goalkeeper trainer Unzué. Eto’o got three goals.

This Sunday’s training session was the last one in Barcelona before the team travels to Lyon. They will be landing at Lyon airport around lunchtime on Monday.
