Ezquerro shines in practice outing

Santi Ezquerro was the star of a practice match during a lively training session at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper complex that saw all the players not on international duty participate in.


In the last session of the week where the first team mixes with the B side, the players took part in a game after a quick warm up.The players were split into two sides and even included substitutes.

3entreno_171007.jpgThe team without bibs consisted of Jorquera, Córcoles, Oleguer, Jeffrey (Mauri), Sylvinho, Crosas, Busquets, Dimas, Bojan, Eneko and William (Ezquerro), while the opposition was made up of Pau, Fali, Botía (Bolaños), Víctor Sánchez, Espasandín, Xavi Torres (Rueda), Toribio, Abraham, Pedrito, Gay and Guerra (William)(Tiago), who wore orange bibs. Goalkeepers Víctor Valdés and Oier did not play as they worked separately with Juan Carlos Unzué. Víctor Vázquez was also unable to join in after receiving a knock.

7entreno_171007.jpgThe match was split into three periods and Gay drew first blood as he put the orange bibs ahead, before Santi Ezquerro scored twice to put the other team into the lead thanks to two great assists from Bojan Krkic. There were no goals in the third period, which the B team used to prepare for their encounter with Vilanova at the weekend.

6entreno_171007.jpgOn the sidelines, Johan Neeskens, Eusebio Sacristán, Pep Guardiola and Tito Vilanova gave the orders while Frank Rijkaard watched from benches alongside Txiki Begiristain and José Ramón Alexanko.

Back at La Masia
Gianluca Zambrotta, Touré Yaya and Rafa Márquez continued with their respective recovery programmes and worked on the pitch in front of La Masia doing physical circuits and kicking a ball. Edmílson was in the gym for the morning.
