A friendly match between the Barça board and the Yokohama Marinos veterans and a visit to the Barça campus in de Yokohama were the main activities in the build up to Tuesday’s game.

In the build up to the game, the members of the Barça Board took on the Yokohama Marinos veterans in Marinos Town, the host club’s training facility close to the hotel where the Barça squad are staying.

Txiki plays central role

Txiki scored three goals and president Joan Laporta added the fourth. Vice president Ferran Soriano also excelled in the Barça goal, preventing the Japanese side from scoring on three separate occasions.

Campus visit

This is a new initiative organised with the help of the Amazing Sports Lab company, which has brought together 250 young people over the course of four weeks. The Barça representatives met with their Japanese colleagues, who politely responded by greeting their guests in Catalan.

Possible youth school
The success of this first campus in Yokohama, which is being held at Marinos Town, has been spectacular and all of the places were snapped up almost immediately. It has been such a success that there is talk now of holding the school on a permanent basis, as is already done in other parts of the world, such as Monterrey and Cairo.
