The Asian tour in detail

FC Barcelona are set for a busy scehdule on their tour of Asia as, along with playing three games, the club will also participate in several promotional events and attend two charity benefit dinners.


Using experience from previous tours to the Far East, the club has planned this trip with a more calculated itinerary for both the games and the off-field events. Unlike the pre-season tour of 2006, this summer's trip will only last nine days.

Throughout this journey, Frank Rijkaard's squad will play games and train, instead of playing four games like last summer. his time around they face Beijing Guoan, Yokohama Marinos and a Mission Hills Invitation XI. Added to that, there will be two benefit dinners to attend, with one in Beijing and one in Hong Kong.

Below is a detailled itinerary of the the tour of the Far East using local time (Japan is plus seven hours and China is plus six on CET):

Thursday August 2
12.55 h. Flight departs fom Barcelona to Beijing

Friday, August 3
05.55 h. Arrival at Beijing International airport
13.00 h. Official press conference in Beijing: Frank Rijkaard and three players
17.00 h. Presentation by Catalan Tourism representatives and local tour operators (Raffles Hotel, Beijing)
20.00 h. Training in the Beijing Feng Tai Stadium

Saturday, August 4
10.00 h. Training in the Beijing Feng Tai Stadium (time to be confirmed)
11.30 h. Audi promotion in the Beijin Feng Tai Stadium
18.00 h. Gala benefit dinner in the Beijing International Hall Centre. Members of the board will attend with coach Frank Rijkaard and one first-team player
20.30 h. Training in the Beijin Feng Tai Stadium

Sunday, August 5
9.00 h. Training in the Beijing Feng Tai Stadium (time to be confirmed)
18.00 h. Game 1: Beijing Guoan FC – FC Barcelona. Venue: Feng Tai Stadium.

Monday, August 6
10.00 h. Flight departs from Beijing to Tokyo
14.25 h. Arrival at the Narita airport, Tokyo
19.30 h. Official press conference in Tokyo: Frank Rijkaard two players. Press room in the Nissan Stadium
20.00 h. Training in the Nissan Stadium

Tuesday, August 7
10.30 h. Training. Marinos Town
12.30 h. Presentation by Catalan Tourism representatives and local tour operators
19.00 h. Game 2: Yokohama Marinos – FC Barcelona. Venue: Nissan Stadium

Wednesday, August 8
10.00 h. Flight departs from Tokyo to Hong Kong
13.40 h. Arrival at Hong Kong airport
16.00 h. Official press conference in Tokyo: Frank Rijkaard two players.
18.30 h. Promotional event organised by Nike
20.30 h. Training in the Hong Kong Stadium

Thursday, August 9
10.30 h. Training in the Siu Sai Wan Stadium
12.30 h. Presentation by Catalan Tourism representatives and local tour operators
19.00 h. Gala benefit dinner in the Grand Hyatt Hotel. Member of the board will attend and several member of the first-team squad , before they head off to training
20.30 h. Training in the Siu Sai Wan Stadium

Laporta takes the lead
Joan Laporta will lead the FC Barcelona trip to China on Thursday and he will be accompanied by vice-presidents Ferran Soriano and Marc Ingla as well as director Albert Perrin and technical secretary Txiki Begiristain.
