Is there no limit to the Messi magic?

Jordi Clos

Images of Leo Messi’s chip against Mexico in the semi finals of the Copa America have been admired around the world. Messimania is stronger than ever as the Argentinian continues to thrill and delight.

Here at Barcelona we are used to seeing Leo Messi do amazing things. Since his first official goal against Albacete in the 2004/05 season to his Maradona-esque wonder-goal against Getafe in the cup, the Argentinian has given us some moments to cherish. And over in Venezuela he is continuing to win over the plaudits with some tremendous displays of footballing genius.

What a goal!

In the 61st minute of the semi final between Argentina and Mexico, Carlos Tévez slipped the ball through to Messi on the edge of the area. The cool way Messi chipped the ball over the Mexican keeper and into the back of the net left viewers gobsmacked, and not only are they saying it was the best goal of the tournament, but some have even gone as far as to say that it is one of the best ever!

Copa American idol

Thanks to that goal, Leo Messi is now expected to pip Nery Castillo to the best player award in the Copa America. And he still has another chance to do more, with Argentina facing Brazil in what promises to be an absolute cracker of a final this weekend.
