Iniesta pleased with new signings

The Barça midfielder has commented that he is excited about the new signings Barça have made. “The competition is strong each year” he said. “But the team will be the winner”.


Andrés Iniesta is delighted that FC Barcelona have signed Thierry Henry, Touré Yaya and Éric Abidal. Promoting the Fuentealbilla brand to which his name is associated, he said “I hope the people coming here will help us to do things well and achieve our objectives”.

A lesion well learned

fcb-nxstic-iniesta_x3x.jpgIniesta expected big changes at the end of a disappointing season. “When things don’t go well, you need to correct the mistakes and start again from scratch” he said. “We know that we need be at 200% to win.”

Positive competition

The new arrivals will mean there will be more competition for places, but “it will be the team that wins.” He was also quizzed about the club’s interest in Gabriel Milito, and claimed “he would be a great new signing. He has performed at a very high level in recent years.”

“A privilege” to play with Henry
Andrés Iniesta knows all the new players will have important jobs to do. But he had a special mention for Thierry Henry: “I hope he will be able to do everything he has shown us he can do. He is a great player and it is a privilege to be able to play alongside people as good as him.”
