Deco goes to Chelsea

FC Barcelona and Chelsea FC have agreed the transfer of Anderson Luis de Souza, Deco, to the London side for €10 million.

After four seasons at FC Barcelona, Deco has now moved on to English football with a transfer to Chelsea FC, where he will be coached by fellow countryman Luiz Felipe Scolari.

€10 million fee

Chelsea are to pay €10 million for the player. Deco, who will be 31 next 27 August, has signed a contract that ties him to the Premier League outfit for three seasons.

During his time at Barça, the Portuguese midfielder was a vital part in the successes achieved by Frank Rijkaard’s team, with which he won two League titles, the Champions League and two Spanish Super Cups. Deco came to Barcelona in the summer of 2004 after five seasons at Porto where he won the Champions League in the 2003/04 season.
