Back worries for Touré

www.fcbarcelona.cat

The Ivorian central midfielder has suffered a hernia that requires peridural infiltration treatment. Whether or not Touré Yaya plays in forthcoming games will depend on how this develops.

The Club Medical Services announced today that “for some days now, the player has had symptoms of back pain that after a series of tests, we have been able to confirm as a disc hernia”.

“The early treatment has not produced the desired results, and so from today we will be treating by peridural infiltration”, said the doctors.

They went to explain that “this treatment was agreed between the Club Medical Services and Touré Yaya himself. We are monitoring the progress of this new treatment and the player’s clinical development has, for the time being, meant that no kind of surgical intervention is required”.

Three unfinished games

The Ivorian has not played the full 90 minutes in any of the last three games. He was rested against Atlético Madrid, played 67 minutes of the Champions League return leg against Celtic and managed 85 minutes in the league against Villarreal.
