Late training on Wednesday

www.fcbarcelona.cat

The first team will be back to work on Wednesday as they start planning for Sunday’s league match. There will be two sessions behind closed doors this week on Friday and Saturday.

After a warm-down session on Monday, Frank Rijkaard has given his players Tuesday off. They will train next at 18.00 on Wednesday at La Masia. With no midweek football for once, Barça have no game until next Sunday when they travel to Almería and the Juegos del Mediterráneo Stadium (kick off 19.00).

Behind closed doors

On Thursday, Friday and Saturday the team will train at 11.00 but only the Thursday session will be open to the public. The Friday session will be at the Miniestadi, and on Saturday in the Camp Nou.

Barcelona don’t usually have back to back private training sessions, but it is not an unheard of circumstance. Before playing at Celtic, Rijkaard held one session behind closed doors in Barcelona and then another in Glasgow.

Forthcoming games

The Champions League draw will be made at 13.00 on Friday, when Barça will find out who they will be meeting in the quarter finals. The first legs will be played on April 1 and 2, but before that there is plenty more football. Barça face a tricky trip to Mestalla on March 20, where a place in the Copa del Rey final will be at stake. The first leg ended 1-1.
Late training on Wednesday
Inter or Liverpool to complete the set
There is still one Champions League quarter final place to be decided, with Inter and Liverpool meeting in Milan this evening. The Reds are very much in the driving seats after beating the Serie A leaders 2-0 in an epic game at Anfield Road. It was Liverpool of course, who put Barcelona out of last year's competition.
