Squad announced for Valencia Cup clash

Frank Rijkaard has added Deco and Henry to the squad for the Cup semi-final against Valencia after resting them for the league game against Levante. Sylvinho, Gudjohnsen, Giovani, Ronaldinho and Márquez (foot) are all excluded.

Rijkaard has chosen to rotate his squad and has brought back Deco and Henry while dropping Ronaldinho, Gudjohnsen, Sylvinho and Giovani. The squad list for the Spanish Cup is restricted to just 16 players as opposed to 18 in the league and the Champions League.

Rijkaard has included French striker Thierry Henry after his key performances in the previous rounds against Sevilla and Villarreal, when he scored the winning goals. He’ll be hoping for a repeat performance against Valencia.

Márquez injury blow

Meanwhile, Rafa Márquez is still suffering from pain in his right foot and is unavailable for Wednesday’s match. Jorquera, Oleguer and Ezquerro are also sidelined by injury.
