www.fcbarcelona.cat

Samuel Eto’o, who arrived in Barcelona on Thursday morning, is suffering from a muscle strain in his left leg and will not travel with the rest of the squad to Zaragoza. However, he has not yet been ruled out of the match in Glasgow.

Samuel Eto’o is back in Barcelona after the African Cup of Nations. The Cameroon striker went straight to the Camp Nou after landing at Barcelona airport for tests on his injured leg.

Optimistic diagnosis

Club doctors issued the following bulletin after examining Eto’o this morning: “He has a strain in the femoral biceps of his left leg due to a blow. There is no muscular injury and the player will undergo three days of special treatment in order to be ready for the Champions League match against Glasgow Celtic. He will therefore be unavailable for this Saturday’s league match”.

A painful final

Samuel Eto’o picked up the problem in the final of the African Cup of Nations, which Cameroon lost 1-0 to Egypt. Despite the injury, he played the full 90 minutes. He had some initial tests in Cameroon before the definitive diagnosis was made in Barcelona.
