Edmílson joins the group

Berta Brau / Jordi Clos

The Brazilian defender took a full part in squad training on Monday morning. As usual, the eleven players that started Sunday’s match trained at a gentler pace than the rest of the squad.

Just hours after beating Racing 1-0, the Barça players were back on the training grounds to prepare for the midweek Cup game against Villarreal. Edmílson, who was injured in the match against Sevilla on 9th January, rejoined his team-mates for training and completed the session without any difficulty.

Post-match recovery exercises

Milito, Henry, Puyol, Zambrotta and Sylvinho did a number of recovery exercises and then returned to the dressing rooms one by one. The rest of the team did some ball control exercises followed by circuit training. The remaining players from Sunday’s starting line-up then returned to the dressing rooms, along with Thuram, who had worked out separately from the group with one of the fitness coaches.

Demanding session for Ronaldinho

Training match

They practiced a series of movements finishing off with a shot on the goal defended by Pinto and Oier. Finally, there was a training match between Messi, Oleguer, Edmílson and Pinto in one team, and Abidal, Xavi, Márquez and Oier in the other.
