Oier: "I had goosebumps"

Anna Segura

Oier Olazábal revealed his delight at making his first team debut and described the thrill of running out at Camp Nou and hearing his name before the Copa del Rey encounter with Alcoyano on Wednesday evening.

Below are what some of the players had to say after the draw that helped FC Barcelona progress to the next round of the cup.

Oier Olazábal:

"I enjoyed it most when I went out on to the pitch. I had goosebumps when they read my name out at the beginning."

"We dominated the first half, but we did not apply as much pressure in the second half."

"With hard work everything will come good as Barça have the best players in the world."

Santi Ezquerro:

"We began the game well, but in the end their self belief grew. I think that we won the tie in the away game."

"When you allow the other team so much it can make life difficult. We had many chances but were unable to finish the game off. Alcoyano were able to score with the only chances that they had."

"I am happy from a personal point of view because I have not play much. It is good for me to be able to help the team."

"Scoring is the most important thing for any forward. I hope that I can score more goals."

Víctor Sánchez:

"I have to work hard to stay here now. What is important was the result in the end."

Marc Valiente:

"I was a slightly strange game because they came at us from the start. They have played their way and they managed to earn a draw. But in the end I think the score did not reflect the chances we had."

"When you are called upon you have to be ready and I am proud and even more so to have played."

"What is important is to help Barça B go back up and if there is a chance to play more times for the first team then that will be great."

José Edmílson:

"I am happy after being out for so long and I have not had any pain and felt good."

"During the time that I have been out of the team I have prepared myself to return. I am now available to the coach to help the team win points and trophies."

"I think that the squad is strong and has a lot of quality. Now we just have to pick up a few results."

Txiki: "We are looking for a keeper"
Txiki Begiristain spoke to the press during the half-time break about the possibility of signing a goalkeeper to replace Albert Jorquera. The Barça technical secretary assured that: "We are looking for a goalkeeper to come in for six months as we continue to have faith in Jorquera. We want an experienced keeper, but also one that can integrate immediately. Whoever it is must realise that we have a very good and number one keeper already."
