Henry passes medical

Thierry Henry has successfully completed his medical at the Camp Nou today.

According to first team doctor Ricard Pruna: “He passed all the medical tests satisfactorily this morning. The analysis is correct as is the cardiac test. We have also carried out tests on his locomotive apparatus as well as ultrasound scans on his tendons and muscles. In short, there are no problems. Everything is in order. Henry doesn’t have any injuries or any after-effects that could affect his incorporation into the discipline of the team”.

Special work plan

Henry picked up groin and stomach muscle injuries in March but according to Dr Pruna: “We paid special attention to the groin because we were aware, and the player told us, that he has had much discomfort [there] since March. We have catalogued it as an unbalance of all the muscle groups that arrive in the area. We have agreed an exhaustive work plan with him to restore the balance, which the player will carry out in Paris”. Club doctors will remain in constant contact with Henry to ensure he is able to report for training as planned on 21st July.

“In principal, as we have seen him today, and as long as the work is exhaustive and with the continuity that we will carry out in the club, when he rejoins [the squad] there shouldn’t be any problems”.

A morning full of medical tests

Thierry Henry arrived at the Hospital de Barcelona together with Carles Naval, the representative of the first team. He was met by the head of the club’s medical services, Ramon Canal, and by first team doctors Toni Tramullas and Ricard Pruna. Here he underwent blood and urine tests as well as various scans.

On his arrival at the Camp Nou at about 12.30, Thierry Henry was greeted by a crowd of reporters from local and international media organisations. He continued with a battery of tests which he completed satisfactorily, displaying at all times a receptive and communicative attitude with the medical staff.
