Edmílson to have knee surgery

Brazilian midfielder José Edmílson will have an operation on Thursday to sort out some problems with his right knee.

Club doctors today confirmed that Edmílson will undergo surgery on Thursday on his right knee. According to the medical bulletin: “The player will have an arthroscopy on his right knee this afternoon". The operation will be carried out by Dr. Ramon Cugat”.

No South Africa trip

Edmílson was one of three injured players, together with Gudjohnsen and Sylvinho, who did not make the trip to South Africa to play the friendly against Mamelodi Sundowns.
