Last open training session in the Masia

All the team, less Edmilson, trained this Friday morning in the last open training session before the season finale.

The end of the Liga is close and with it the end of the training sessions. Friday’s session was the last before the habitual closed door training the day before the game. It is not known if the team will train next Saturday, before flying to Pretoria to play against South Africa.

In the session, Frank Rijkaard had nearly all his squad fit and ready. Only Edmilson was out due to an injury to his right knee. Deco, who had permission not to train yesterday, and Gudjohnsen, who was resting a knock, both were back in training, although the Icelandic front man is still recovering from his knock to his left knee.

Ball training

The session started off with the habitual warm up and ball skills, which was followed by ball control in pairs. Following this, Rijkaard split the group up to do positional play exercises. The training finished with a game of 10 on 10, in which Giuly did not participate due to doing recovery exercises close to the action.

Gudjohnsen improving

Icelandic forward has improved significantly since beginning his recovery from injury from last weekend. Gudjohnsen trained normally with the rest of the squad and also took part in the final game.
