Argentina are in Barcelona

The Argentina national team arrived in Barcelona on Sunday to begin preparations for their friendly encounter in Camp Nou against Algeria on Tuesday after drawing with Switzerland at the weekend.


FC Barcelona are represented in the Albiceleste squad by Lionel Messi and Javier Saviola, while there are also a host of stars from the Spanish top flight including Roberto Abbondanzieri, Roberto Ayala, Fernando Gago and the Milito brothers, Diego and Gabriel. Also included are the Inter trio of Esteban Cambiasso, Hernán Crespo and Javier Zanetti, as well as Liverpool's Javier Mascherano and West Ham's Carlos Tevez.

Training at the Ciutat Esportiva

After arriving in the Ciutat Contal some of the squad trained at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper in front of fans and the media. The players that appeared for the majority of the 1-1 draw with Switzerland on Saturday did not take part in the session, like Messi, who instead worked in the gymnasium back at the hotel.
Camp Nou on Monday

Training will also take place in Camp Nou at 19:30 on Monday and will the final session before the game against Algeria the day after. Most of the players are already familiar with the Blaugrana stadium having played in a friendly against Catlaunya two-and-a-half years ago.

Press conference
At 13:00 on Monday, Argentina coach Alfio Basile, Gabriel Milito and Lionel Messi will attend a press conference at their hotel, the Intercontinental Princesa Sofía, in Barcelona.
