Club to appeal Ronaldinho red card

FC Barcelona will present an appeal on Tuesday against the red card shown to Ronaldinho on Saturday.

According to the report of match referee Alfonso Pérez Burull, Ronaldinho was sent off in the 40th minute for the following events: "After being awarded a free kick in his favour, he [Ronaldinho] turned to the player who had fouled him and kicked him. He then immediately tried to kick him with the other foot but without making contact. The Getafe player did not require attention and was able to continue playing”.
The Club’s legal dept. will prepare the appeal, which will include video evidence, on Monday. The Competition Committee of the Spanish FA will meet on Tuesday afternoon to consider this and other issues arising from last weekend’s league matches.
