“Winning the league wouldn’t be nice, it would be very nice!”

Aleix Santacana

Belletti knows that it is getting harder and harder to win titles, so winning the league could be considered a huge success.

“Every player wants to win more. It is not hunger for titles that we are lacking! The thing is that every team wants to win and that makes it more and more difficult to do it” said Belletti, before adding that “We just need to worry about winning our own matches. I’m not worried about Madrid.”

Getafe

WEB_19_23-05-07.jpgSchuster’s Getafe is next up in the league for Barça, and this will be their fourth meeting of the season. However, the Brazilian does not feel that too many comparisons should be made with the cup matches. “I know they’ll talk about that a lot over the coming days but we’re playing at home on Saturday and we played well against Getafe in the cup here. It is the league the matters now, and we have to win.”

Personal situation

The full back is aware that he has played a lesser role in the team this year. In the league he has only been given 746 minutes, starting just 8 games and coming on as sub in 4 others. “I have played in fewer games than in other years but I’m not putting the blame on anybody, just myself. I know I have to get over this situation as I have done in the past with difficult situations in my life.”

High spirits

Belletti also denied that the mood has dampened among the squad, and is delighted to see a smile back on Ronaldinho’s face. “When we win, things are always better. I think Ronnie is feeling better now. He is very experienced and that has helped him through. Ronnie has played a lot of games for Brazil, and I promise you, there’s a lot more pressure there than there is here.”

Champions League final
Milan and Liverpool meet tonight in the Champions league final, and Belletti will be watching it on television. “I hope it’s a good final” he said. “I will never forget what happened in Paris and I am sure that watching the match this evening, the good memories will come flooding back.” Belletti scored the winner for Barça twelve months go with “a goal that changed my life.”
