Monday training

Aleix Santacana/Miriam Nadal

The entire senior football squad trained at the La Masia grounds on Monday morning with the exception of the injured Rafa Márquez.

Rafa Márquez was the only member of the senior squad unable to take part in Monday’s training session, the first after the draw against Betis. The rest of the squad began their preparations for the four remaining matches of the 2006-07 league season, starting with next Sunday’s away match against Atlético Madrid.

Post-match routine

The session consisted of warm-up exercises followed by ball control exercises (without Thuram, who exercised apart). They then did some jogging after which the players that took part in Sunday’s match returned to the dressing rooms. The rest of the squad carried on with exercises focussed on passing and ball control.

Five-a-side

Wind and rain
The weather is very unsettled at the moment in Catalonia and strong gusty winds were a feature of today’s session. The players were fortunate enough to escape the downpours that Barcelona suffered in the early hours of Monday morning but had to cover up more than usual against the unusually cold winds.
