The best home record

Sandra Sarmiento/Sergi Nogueras

FC Barcelona have enjoyed their best season at home since Frank Rijkaard took over as coach. in the 16 games played at Camp Nou this term, the hosts ahve won 13 of them and drawn three.

Samuel Eto'o's goal against Levante on Sunday did not just ensure that the Blaugrana remain as league leaders for another week, but also maintained the club's excellent record in their own stadium. With 13 wins secured, the only points that the team has dropped at home this season have been in draws against Valencia, Atlético de Madrid and Real Madrid.

Atlético woe

The statistics

In the 2004-05 and 2005-06 campaign, Barça had the same record as they won 12, drew three and lost one match in their first 16 home matches of the campaign. In the first season, when the Dutch coach was still settling in, the team won seven matches, drew six and tasted defeat on three occasions.

Only unbeaten leader

Barça are the only team to remain unbeaten league leader at home in all of Europe's major championships. Manchester United, Inter, Schalke 04, Lyon and PSV have lost on their own turf.
The best home record
Aiming for 16 wins
The new challenge for Barça now is to surpass th 15 victories that they enjoyed at Camp Nou last season. That target is possible if they can beat the remaining three visitors, Real Betis, Getafe and Espanyol.
