“There is total commitment from the players”

Thiago Motta believes that the players are totally committed to the club and are conscious of what is a stake from now until the end of the season.

“The players are only passing through but the club always remains above everything”. That was the unequivocal response of Thiago Motta to questions about the team’s commitment to the club and the objectives for the remainder of the season in which the league and cup are still up for grabs.

The Brazilian responded to doubts about the level of commitment in the dressing room: “The team has a high degree of commitment to the club. Many of us won’t be here in a few years time but the club will continue and because of that out commitment is total”.

Concentrated on Mallorca

The visit of Mallorca is the only thing that occupies the minds of the Barça players. The Barça midfielder said, “it’s normal that on the outside people speak about other subjects. It’s always been like that. But the most important thing is that in the dressing room the players remain conscious of the importance of the game against Mallorca. It will be a difficult duel but we must win if we want to stay on top of the table”.

Ronaldinho is the same as always

Motta was asked about the condition of his good friend Ronaldinho, who today began a specific preparation plan, after recovering from tonsillitis. I think Ronaldinho is fine – same as always. It’s already been explained what happened him this week and now he’s working to be back as soon as possible. If you want more details you’d have to ask him but he seems like the same as normal to me.

Eusebio wants the best for the dressing room

Motta is convinced that all the opinions expressed by players and technical staff regarding the organisation of the dressing room are “for the good of the team. I didn’t hear the comments of Eusebio or the others on this subject but I’m sure the intention is not to create problems in the dressing room – quite the opposite. So there is no problem”.

Much better after his injury
Motta is much better following the injury to his left leg although his is still awaiting the medical OK and will miss Sunday’s game with Mallorca.
