Maxi: "My heart is with Barça”

Barça’s Argentine striker, Maxi López, is currently on loan to this weekend’s La Liga rivals Mallorca. However, as he confessed to Barça TV, his heart remains with FC Barcelona.

For Maxi López, this Sunday’s meeting between Barça and Mallorca in the Camp Nou will be no ordinary match – it will be the first time he has played here defending the colours of another team. In an interview for the programme “Zona Mixta” on Barça TV, he revealed: “I’m really looking forward to playing this match. It’s really good playing in the Camp Nou”. Unlike his time with Barça, Maxi is getting plenty of opportunities to show what he can do: “I’m playing regularly now and that means my performances can be more consistent”.

Barça favourites for league title

Maxi, who signed for Barça in January 2005, is well aware of the Club’s position in the race for the league title: “Barça is a great team and also has fantastic individuals. They are a touch above the rest. FC Barcelona are my favourites to win the league title. My heart is with Barça”.

The Ono Estadi

Maxi played in this season’s first meeting between the two teams in Palma’s Ono Estadi in Mallorca. He worked hard before being substituted on the hour by Víctor. Maxi López believes this weekend’s match will be “a good match”. But whoever wins, Maxi for one will have reason to celebrate.
