Depor have nine of each

Deportivo La Coruña are the only team in the Spanish league that have won as many games as they have drawn and lost, having tasted each on nine occasions. Now they travel to Barça destined to end that sequence one way or the other.

With the nine victories, nine draws and nine defeats in their opening 27 matches, Joaquín Caparrós' side appear to be extremely inconsistent, but the fact is that, despite this curious statistic, they arrive at Camp Nou this weekend on the back of two consecutive victories.

Inconsistent form

In the first nine matches of the season the Galician side won four games and drew three and ended October in seventh place in the league table. Unfortunately, the following two months were disastrous as they managed to collect only three points from their remaining games in 2006.

The turn of the year saw an improvement in results as they kicked off 2007 with a win against Real Madrid in Riazor. In the last outing before the current international break, Depor defeated Bernd Schuster's Getafe and now sit in 12th place in la Primera.
Away day blues

From the 36 points that were available from their home games this season, Caparrós' side have picked up 25 of them, winning seven games and drawing four. Those figures are an improvement on last season when they won only six games in Riazor all term. Barça were, in fact, the first team to take a point from Depor on their own ground this campaign when they drew on week nine. On the flip side, Depor have managed only two away wins and have collected just 11 points from a possible 39 on their travels.

Looking goalwards

On average, Depor score a goal once every 121 minutes of play, having scored just 20 goals in their 27 league matches. They have failed to score in 13 of their games and have scored three in one outing on just one occasion when they beat Real Zaragoza on the first day of league. The club's top scorer is Javier Arizmendi, who is unavailable for the game against Barça through suspension, with five goals.
