Zambrotta and Giuly in for Márquez and Oleguer

The two players that missed the match with Real Madrid through suspension, Zambrotta and Giuly are the only new additions to the squad for the game against Recreativo. Marquez has been omitted by Rikjaard while Oleguer is suspended.

Both Zambrotta and Giuly are set to feature in the Recreativo-Barça encounter on Saturday. Both were missing from the Real Madrid game after being sent off at Sevilla’s Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán stadium a week earlier. The return of the Frenchman and the Italian means that Márquez misses out while Oleguer will also be absent through suspension. These are the only changes to the squad from the Madrid game. Ezquerro and Motta are also omitted.

All the fullbacks

The Nuevo Colombino stadium will witness an unusual squad selection for Barça. Not since the 9th of December 2006 against Real Sociedad (1-0) have Barça included four fullbacks in the squad (Gio, Sylvinho, Belletti and Zambrotta). On that occasion both Belletti and Sylvinho featured in the starting line-up.
