Jorquera signs contract extension

Goalkeeper Albert Jorquera has signed a new contract this Friday, securing his services with the club until June 2008.

With this new contract, Jorquera, who turns 28 this Saturday, sees his regularity and performances rewarded. The last time Jorquera signed a contract was in June 2004. This time around, the contract was for four years. This Friday, President Joan Laporta and Albert Jorquera have signed the contract extension until June 2008.

“It’s been a perfect week”

Just after signing his new contract, Albert Jorquera spoke with Barça TV and www.fcbarceolna.cat and expressed his happiness about recent events: “I’m happy. It’s been a perfect week and I hope it finishes with a win in Sevilla. It’0s good to feel valued in the team and the club and this is the best way to know. Although I’ve got one year remaining, I hope to stay here for a lot longer”.

Jorquera is first choice keeper for the Copa del Rey games and is therefore excited by the prospect of the semi finals, which will be played on April 18 and May 9. The goalkeeper hopes to extend his participation until the grand final: I hope to be able to get there, however, it’s clear we’ll have a tough semi final. I hope to reach the final and be in the starting line up”.
