Unzué: “Sevilla still have a lot left in reserve”

Goalkeeper coach, Juan Carlos Unzué, explained that Barça’s next opponents, Seville, “still have a lot left in reserve” and considers them to be “a strong candidate for the Liga title”.

Juan Carlos Unzué spoke to Barça TV and www.fcbarcelona.cat regarding the blaugrana’s next rivals. For the ex-keeper, also from Andalusia, Juande Ramos’ team still “have a lot left in reserve” and believes the team is “a strong candidate for the Liga title and they are a team which can cause us many problems until the final moment”.

Progression

Juan Carlos Unzué believes Sevilla “are progressing well since they spent two years in the second division. They are not the same team they were 10 years ago”. “Sevilla are getting better and better despite not having a lot of financial clout”.

Praise for Palop and Kanouté

The goalkeeper coach had words of praise for some of the Sevilla players. “Palop is quick and good in one on one situations. I think he’s in the top 4 or five goalkeepers in Spain” explained Unzué.

Regarding La Liga top scorer, Kanouté, Unzue confirmed that “he’s important, not only for the goals he scores but also the hard work he puts in for the team during the 90 minutes”.

How to stop them

The best virtue of the team from Andalusia “is their collective state of mind” despite “their quality and fluidity of play”. The work rate is another noable aspect of Sevilla: “The team is the most important, not the individual”, assured Unzué, who does not believe that Saturday’s result will determine who will win the Liga title. He believes the best for Barça would be “to maintain possession of the ball and try to control Sevilla’s quick breaks. We cannot let them control the rhythm of the game”.
