Jorquera: the Cup keeper is back

The Barça keeper has recovered from the gastroenteritis that kept him out of the squad against Athletic Club will return to action this week in the Cup second leg clash at Zaragoza.

Albert Jorquera has become the regular Barça keeper in cup matches, having not missed a game in the competition this season. He has yet another chance to show his worth on Wednesday against Zaragoza, although there was a chance that he would miss out on the chance after going down with a bout of gastroenteritis and missing out on the Athletic Club Bilbao match.

Not about revenge

The reserve keeper in league and European matches commented that “the team is as motivated as ever and we never throw the towel in in any competitions. It’s true that they have beaten us in two of the last three editions, but there is no mood of revenge. All we want is to win. 1-0 is a result we can turn around, but we need to go out there with the idea of winning in our heads”.

More confident

Albert Jorquera is aware of what an important boost it would be for morale to get past the Aragonese side and find a place in the semi final draw. “I don’t think the score against Zaragoza will decide anything, but getting through this tie will give us the confident we need to face Sevilla, and then Liverpool after that”.

Important to stay clam
Albert Jorquera feels that the number of important matches around the corner means that each player needs to prepare in his own particular way. For him, in these kinds of games “the important thing is to be relaxed. It is my way of being able to play better”.
