A special recovery session
The FC Barcelona players enjoyed a recuperation session on Monday as they travelled to the Hotel Le Meridien Ra in Vendrell for physiotherapy and hydrotherapy.
After beating Athletic Bilbao (3-0) on Sunday evening, the team that started the match were given a day away from the usual training routine as they were taken to the hotel in order to recover ahead of the Copa Del Rey game in midweek. The players that did not appear against Athletic were put through their paces on the pitch in front of La Masia, before joining their team-mates at the thermal centre.
Spa history
This was not the first time that the squad have been to a centre such as this. Last season, Frank Rijkaard took his players to the Sport and Wellness Centre Accura in Gavà. The session on Monday was designed to ensure that the Barça stars recover from any aches and pains picked up in their last few games, as the team prepares for a testing fortnight that will see them take on Real Zaragoza, Sevilla, Liverpool and Real madrid.
Lunchtime
After the morning session, the squad enjoyed a big lunch at the hotel, before travelling back to Barcelona.
Tuesday training
The Barça squad will train on Tuesday behind closed doors before travelling to Zaragoza. Rijkaard
wants his players' totally focussed on the Copa Del Rey quarter final, second leg as they look to
come back from a 1-0 defeat in the first encounter.
