Saviola: “The next 20 days will be decisive”

The Argentinian striker believes that his team knows how to turn around the current situation and overturn the first leg deficits in both the Copa del Rey against Zaragoza and in the Champions League versus Liverpool.

Javier Saviola appeared before the press this Friday and spoke about the immediate future of Barça. The Argentinian believes “the mindset has to be changed to believe we can change the situation. The next 20 days will be decisive for the team. Saviola was hopeful about beating Liverpool in the return leg: “we believe its vital to go through as playing in the Champions is fantastic”.

Not an easy situation

The Barça striker is also conscious that “the situation is not easy, but we are looking forward with confidence”, in reference to the return legs in both the Champions League and the Copa del Rey.

Saviola added that “its a difficult moment for the whole team not just the strikers. We are all equally to blame and we all have the same responsibility, everyone has to improve - individually and as a group”. Saviola believes that “its very important to start the comeback in the next game”, that will be on Sunday against Athletic Bilbao (21h00, C+)

A united team
Javier Saviola played down the importance of some of the Fridays front pages that showed pictures of Ronaldinho. The Argentinian said “we don’t have to talk about ‘Ronnie’. It doesn’t interest us, what’s important to us is that he is happy; he is a footballer”. Indeed, facing this type of situation Saviola believes “we must remain united as a group”.
