Under-17 World Cup
Bojan couldn’t take part in the 2007/08 preseason with the first team because he was with the Spanish under-17 team at the World Cup in South Korea. Bojan was one of the best players in the tournament but missed out on the final after being sent off in injury time in the semi-final. In the end Nigeria ran out winners but Bojan received the Bronze Ball as third best player in the championship.

Bojan’s year

In just one year Bojan went from Barça B to be one of the top players in the first team in 2007/08.

There’s no doubt that 2007/08 will be remembered as the one when Bojan Krkic burst into the Barça first team. The young striker kept on accumulating records and awards ever since his debut in a friendly against Al-Ahly in April 2007.

The records

Bojan joined the first team after the season had got under way and made his debut at Reyno de Navarra in Barça’s third League fixture. Three days later on 19 September he became the youngest Barça player to play in a European match when he came on for the last few minutes in the Champions League clash with Olympique de Lyon.

A month later on matchday 8 he scored his first goal for Barça to become the youngest goalscorer for the club in the competition.

Very intense

Bojan had a very intense year after making his debut with the first team against Al-Ahly from Egypt in a friendly. His figures for official matches in his first season were outstanding, as for instance he scored in all three competitions (League, Cup and Champions League).
