  • Location and context
    The neighbourhood of El Raval in Barcelona has a high and growing presence of immigration and belongs to the district of Barcelona with the highest cultural diversity. The classrooms of this neighbourhood stand out for their high index of school drop out. 

    The activities were carried out at the 'Casal d’Infants of Raval' (Children's home of Raval) and at the neighbourhood's CEIP Collasso i Gil (Infant and Primary Education Centre).
  • Beneficiaries
    The 15 instructors and teachers, who participated in this Workshop on Solidarity and Sport, work with vulnerable children of the area in several entities within the neighbourhood. 120 youths between 6 and 18 years of age also participated who are linked to the 'Casal d’Infants of Raval' (Children's home of Raval) and the entity 'Franja'.
  • Activities and results
    The former FC Barcelona player Julio Alberto Moreno and other speakers gave theory lessons in order to improve teachers' skills with regard to the use of sport as an educational and social integration tool.   

    The player Lilliam Thuram participated in these workshops by visiting the practical activities.

    The Workshop on Solidarity and Sport in El Raval has contributed to encourage the neighbourhood entities to improve social cohesion.
