Location and context

The sixth edition of the Sport Solidarity Conferences was held in Barcelona within the framework of collaboration with the Obra Social de La Caixa and with the participation of the social entities associated to the Programme CaixaProinfància. The closing act which was held in the Camp Nou counted with the presence of Pinto and Sylvinho, as well as other players of the club's sections.


Activities

The theory session aimed at the teachers were held at the CosmoCaixa. The opening masterly conference was conducted by Dr. Francesc Torralba, director of the Cátedra Ethos of the Universidad Ramon Llull (URL). The subjects dealt with were: how to achieve social integration of children through sport, in which way do sport practices have a bearing on the social problems affecting vulnerable children, and how to plan efficient sport activities to promote values such as multiculturality, equality of gender and overcoming discriminatory prejudices. The practical sessions, which consisted in different sport games, were given to children from four years of age.
