Casal de Catalunya Tournament returns

The third edition of the Torneig Casal de Catalunya ended on Saturday November 8, organised by FCB Juniors Luján at La Candela, in the Province of Buenos Aires, and the home team collected the trophy.

As has become a common feature of the calendar in recent years, November 8 was the date for the third edition of the Torneig Casal de Catalunya. The tournament was played in different categories, and featured 15 teams from different parts of Buenos Aires and its surrounding area.

FCB Juniors Luján champion

The tournament was played on four separate days in September and October, with teams gradually being eliminated until the finals came around last Saturday. The winners were FC Barcelona Juniors Luján, who won the deciding game 5-2 against Club Argentinos del Sur de Villa Fiorito, from the Province of Buenos Aires.

Preliminary matches

Before, in the semi final, they had beaten Club Deportivo Dulce de Leche, 6-1. The third placed side was Club 17 de Agosto, who lost their semi final with Argentinos del Sur and then beat Dulce de Leche in the play-off 5-3.

Representatives of the Casal

The finals were overseen by Sr. Jordi Font, president of the Casal de Catalunya de Buenos Aires and Pere Jordi Rafecas, member of the Board of Directors of the same institution, and it was these gentlemen who presented the trophies at the end of the day. They were joined by Daniel Vitali, Pablo Forte and Jorge Raffo, director general of FCB’s project in Argentina, director of Scouting and director of sport, respectively.
